Begins Sunday, November 30

For a decade, our church has recorded stories of God’s faithfulness. In celebration of those ten years, this Advent we will be looking back on the Christmas story as well as our own stories. How do these stories impact us? How did they impact the characters within? Together, we will remember these stories with gratitude and celebrate how God has blessed us and been present with us. These stories will be powerful reminders that encourage us for decades to come!

Advent Journal

This Advent, we will be using a prayer journal to reflect on God’s faithfulness—both in the Christmas story and in the stories of our own lives. Use this Advent journal to reflect on your place in God’s story and be reminded of the love and hope He has for you!

Gratitude Journals

For 10 years, we have been sharing and collecting stories of God’s faithfulness in our lives. These stories—OUR stories—have sparked gratitude, brought comfort, and tied us together as a family. In a world that moves quickly and forgets easily, reflecting on a decade allows us to see God’s hand in everything.  This year, we are compiling these stories into a Gratitude Journal to give to every family in our church on Sunday, December 21 and Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24.

Similar to Luke’s “orderly account” in his Gospel, we endeavor to do the same: create an orderly account of God’s loyal love to us through every season so that future generations can be certain of the things they have been taught.

We hope the stories in the Gratitude Journal will be used by the Holy Spirit to help you through whatever season of life you find yourself in today. We’re grateful to each writer for sharing their story with us, so that they can also become our stories.

We kindly ask that copies be limited to one per family.

Join us for an evening of hope and celebration as we gather to remember the greatest story of all: Jesus entering into our world to share in our humanity and make a way for life with Him forever.

What time should I arrive for Christmas Eve services?

Our Christmas services tend to fill up, so we’d recommend showing up about 10 minutes earlier to allow enough time to park and get seated.

How long is the service?

Each service is about an hour.

Can I watch Christmas Eve online?

We will livestream our 4:30 PM service on our YouTube channel.

Is childcare available?

Childcare is available for children ages birth–2 years old in our Begin room (upstairs).

What should I wear?

There is no expectation. Jeans, ties, dresses, whatever you love. Just come as you are!

What happens if the service is full?

If a service fills up, head to the Auditorium for overflow seating.

All are welcome to join us at Third Church for a free Christmas Day meal! Fellowship with one another and enjoy a classic Christmas meal of ham, potatoes, green beans (plus all the fixins’), pies, and other delicious homemade desserts.

We need volunteers to help make our Christmas Day meal possible! Spots are available for all ages and abilities. Sign up for a time slot on the Google sheet and help us make the day merry!

On the final Sunday of the year, we’re returning to the text we studied on the first Sunday of the year—Luke 2:52, which tells us that “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

Did we make progress?
Did we grow in wisdom?
Did we deepen our relationships with God and with one another?

Join us for a time of honest reflection and gratitude for the ways God has helped us grow. As we seek clarity for the year ahead, this Sunday is an opportunity to look back so that we can faithfully look forward.
