Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and invites us into 40 days of intentional reflection. It is a time to prepare our hearts for Easter through prayer, fasting, generosity, and communion with God and one another.

Throughout Lent at Third Church, we encourage:

Set aside food, habits, or comforts to declare, “Jesus, I need You more.”

Come and experience the refuge of God through prayer. Each Sunday, immediately following the 9:15 AM services, the Auditorium will be open for a Refresh-style prayer environment.

All services are held right here at Third Church in Pella.

Sunday, March 29 • 8:00 AM, 9:15 AM, and 10:45 AM
Palm Sunday begins Holy Week. We remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem as the crowds cried, “Hosanna!” Join us during our regular Sunday morning service times as we celebrate King Jesus and prepare our hearts for the cross.

Thursday, April 2 • 7:00 PM • Sanctuary
On Maundy Thursday, we remember the Last Supper. Jesus gave us the bread and the cup as signs of His body broken and His blood poured out.

This reflective service includes Scripture, prayer, and Communion as we remember the love that serves and sacrifices.

Friday, April 3 • 7:00 PM • Sanctuary
Good Friday is a solemn gathering as we remember Jesus’ death on the cross. We sit in the weight of what He accomplished, trusting that God’s plan is unfolding even in the darkness.

Saturday, April 4 • 7:00 PM • Auditorium
Holy Saturday is a quiet service of waiting and reflection.

As the disciples waited in uncertainty, we remember that even in the silence, God is at work. We gather in stillness, knowing that resurrection hope is near.

Sunday, April 5 • 8:00 AM, 9:15 AM, and 10:45 AM
He is risen! On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the victory of Jesus’ resurrection. Death has been defeated. Sin has been conquered. Love has triumphed.

There will be no THIRD KiDS ministries on Easter Sunday beyond nursery care during the 9:15 AM and 10:45 AM services.

What should I wear?

For Good Friday, many folks like to wear dark colors to commemorate the solemnity of Jesus’ death. On Easter Sunday, it is typical to wear something bright and spring-like in celebration of Christ’s resurrection. No matter the season, just wear what makes you comfortable. Some come in Sunday best, others come casually. In either case, you are welcome here.

What can I expect from these services?

When should I arrive?

Plan to arrive 10–20 minutes early, especially for the 9:15 AM service. Easter is one of our most attended Sundays of the year.

Where should I park?

If this is your first time at Third Church, we’d love to welcome you to park in any of the main parking lots near our three main entrances.

If you consider Third Church your home and if you are able, you can help us make our space as welcoming as possible by parking across the street at the schools. Third Church will be providing a golf cart shuttle which will be running from approximately 7:30 AM–12:30 PM if you need assistance.

Will services be livestreamed?

Yes. The 9:15 AM Easter service will be livestreamed on YouTube.
